A large French faience charger from Gien, produced between 1871 and 1875. Polychrome decoration inspired by the Italian Renaissance. Large and deep and can be used as a serving dish.
Operating from the 19th century, the Gien manufacture produced items of luxury faience with several patterns, the Renaissance on white background being perhaps the most elegant. Marked at the back. The small imperfections of the 19th century production process add a lot of character to the Gien items from this period.
